BANG ON WEDDING TRENDS IN 2024

Buddymoons, buttonholes and bows. These are three things that are in Vogue for weddings in 2024.

A break from tradition is on the horizon in the wedding industry. This season will see less of the convention and more of the personal touches that really set your day apart from anyone else.

This year there might be less of the what you ‘should do’ and more of a demonstration of personality with couples concentrating on the ritual of getting married and making sure it is done their way. It’s an exciting time for the industry as weddings look set to be more creative, more of an expression of self, more unique and more personal than ever before.

Here are the trends of 2024 according to Vogue.

BIG IDEAS

From wild-themed weddings with Gothic extravagance to a big emphasis on entertainment and live music, couples are determined to keep their guests entertained throughout the day.

BUDDYMOON

Couples are looking for venues they can take over for a whole week or long weekend to be able to invite all their closest friends and enjoy a ‘Buddymoon’ stretching out the celebration for as long as is possible.

BESPOKE INVITATIONS

As every couple strives to make their day different, bridal parties bespoke requests are one way they are trying to achieve this, starting with the invitations. Instead of the homogenous bouquets and displays, couples are opting for single stems of significance.

PLAIN SAILING

Mood-boosting brights instead of ivory dresses and lilac usurping pink in bouquets, are just two of the ways brides are making it their own. But there’s also rising enthusiasm for stripping things back, a knock on from the pandemic - teaching us how to do weddings differently. Think crisp white linen, antique silver candelabras, beautiful silver tableware and classic white plates as a stark contrast to all the pattern and craziness going on elsewhere.

SOMETHING GREEN INSTEAD OF SOMETHING BLUE

Sustainability of suppliers, dresses and flowers is an ever growing trend set to stay. Homegrown the buzzword and smaller displays to reduce the amount of waste, whilst wedding favours are replaced by couples inviting guests to take flowers home from the wedding. A nice touch and a move towards a more sustainable day all round. Whilst brides seek out vintage dresses and trains made from upcycled lace.

MICRO TRENDS

Button holes making a come back and bows in the hair whilst tables will not just be adorned with pristine tablecloths and matching candlesticks, because fruit is having a moment!
